GMS Cares Volunteers Support The Salvation Army Clothing Resources Center

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – March 19, 2026 – Employees from GMS’ San Francisco office recently volunteered with The Salvation Army at its Clothing Resources Center, helping provide essential clothing and household items to individuals and families in need.

During the volunteer shift, GMS team members assisted with sorting, organizing, and hanging donated clothing and supplies, as well as supporting visitor appointments and check‑ins. Their efforts helped ensure that guests could access new or gently used items in a welcoming and dignified environment designed to feel like a free shopping experience rather than a traditional donation center.

About The Salvation Army Clothing Resources Center

The Salvation Army Clothing Resources Center serves low‑income individuals and families by offering clothing and household essentials at no cost. After a period of closure, the center has reopened with a fully renovated space aimed at restoring dignity and comfort for those seeking assistance. Volunteers play a critical role in maintaining daily operations and supporting community members as they access resources.

Community members interested in supporting The Salvation Army Clothing Resources Center can volunteer through HandsOn Bay Area.
